A Little About Us

Simply Pearls came from an idea we had years ago whilst on holiday. We loved the idea of actually opening an Akoya pearl oyster and having it made into a piece of jewellery. We loved it so much we spent a small fortune opening numerous oysters and having rings, pendants and earrings made up from the pearls. Unfortunately they then left the whole lot in the hire car at the Airport! 

But we loved the idea, and the pearls of course.

The problem was that when we got home we wanted more pearl jewellery, and it just wasn't easy to find. Of course there were the traditional jewellers, but they had very little fashionable pearl jewellery. Much of the high street 'fashion jewellery' was faux pearl (we did the tooth test to find out!) and the silver was very often very flimsy, if indeed you could find beautiful silver pearl jewellery at all.  So, we thought that if we wanted it, and the shops couldn't provide it , we would find it out ourselves .... so we did.

We have found some gorgeous sterling silver pearl and mother of pearl jewellery, and of course we have some of the more traditional pearl jewellery too which you can see in our 'Classic' range.   Currently all of our stock items are freshwater pearls, but if you are looking for Akoya or Tahitian Pearls, or indeed are trying to find a piece in a different colour or length, then give us a call, we may be able to help.
